[sthlm reference] On public space

Questions of legal aspects of public space in Stockholm came up during the first working day, and here's som info:

Link to the stockholm community webbpage with regulations concerning "streets and squares" i.e. public spaces:
http://www.stockholm.se/TrafikStadsplanering/Gator-och-torg/

This is what the web page says about public space:

The city belongs to all of us and almost all outdoor locations in the City where people can move is a public place: the pavement, the square and park. While some surfaces are indoor public place, such as passages in the indoor malls.

Order Act "says that we need police permits for those who want to use public place for something other than what is said in detail.

A map of what is public place does not exist. It is a definition issue, as explained in Order Act, Chapter 1, Section 2. The detailed control over the city at large as the land is used for.

My interpretation of "definition issue" reads: the law can ultimately be changed concerning what´s ok and what´s not depending on who, when, why and what takes place...

Thanks for a first day of movement // over and out // efwa-wiktoria
