Nina de Heney (CH/SE)

Double bass player Nina de Heney, Sweden, born 1962 in Switzerland, studied for Miroslav Vitous New-England Conservatory Boston 1981-1983. Musikhögskolan Gothenburg 1988-1993, diploma studies 2004-2006. Scholarships from Swedish Arts Grants Committee and Stena A Olssons culture foundation.
de Heney works as freelance within the Swedish jazz- and improvisation scene as a soloist and with constellations such as Christian Jormin 3 , 9 Swans Repeat, Nordlund-deHeney duo, Pfau, Henrik Wartel trio, Acoustic Electronics as well as in interdisciplinary projects with for example dancer Anna Westberg.
Nina de Heney's first solo album, and Acoustic Electronics' cd with Charlotte Hug and Christian Jormin, were released in 2007. de Heney and Anna Wesrberg organized the festival Dance'n bass at Atalante, May 2008. Five dancers and five bass players performed in duos. The project Nordstan No Shopping, by duo Nordlund-de Heney, confronts shopping culture with improvisation music, and was initiated during spring 2008.
